AUCKLAND, 13 September 2021 — Russell Investments is pleased to announce that Brett Moffat, CFA, CAIA, has joined the firm as an Investment Consultant. Based in the Auckland office, Moffat is responsible for delivering a range of Russell Investments’ consulting services to investors in New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Moffat joined Russell Investments from Marsh, where he served as the Head of Private Equity and M&A Services Practice, first in Korea and then in New Zealand. Prior to Marsh, Moffat was a member of the Investment Strategy Group at the sovereign wealth fund, the Korea Investment Corporation (KIC). In this role, he was responsible for private markets strategy and co-investment. Before KIC, Moffat worked in private equity and corporate advisory roles, where he mainly focused on cross-border transactions.

Biography: Brett Moffat, CFA, CAIA, Investment Consultant
Brett is an Investment Consultant at Russell Investments, based in the Auckland office. He is part of the team that delivers a range of services to assist institutional investors in meeting their goals, including investment strategy and governance advice and implementation services through Russell Investments’ Outsourced Chief Investment Officer solution.
Prior to joining Russell Investments in 2021, Brett was Head of Private Equity and M&A Services Practice at Marsh, firstly in Korea and then New Zealand. Prior to Marsh, Brett was a member of the Investment Strategy Group at the sovereign wealth fund, the Korea Investment Corporation (KIC). He has also worked for a private equity buyout fund and as an M&A consultant, mainly focusing on cross-border transactions.
Brett is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charterholder. He has served on the CAIA Korea Society Executive Committee and on the board of the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Korea.
Brett holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of the Sunshine Coast and an MBA (Finance) from Sungkyunkwan University.
