Russell Investments Canada names two directors to institutional sales team
Noot and Kulidjian to help expand awareness of Russell Investments’ robust asset management and implementation capabilities in the Canadian institutional marketplace.
TORONTO, May 3, 2016—Russell Investments Canada Limited (“Russell Investments Canada”) has appointed Daniel Noot and Shoghig (Sho) Kulidjian as directors, institutional sales. Based in Toronto, Noot and Kulidjian will focus on establishing new asset management relationships with institutional investors, including investment outsourcing (OCIO), as well as providing them with access to custom implementation services such as transition management, overlay services, commission management and currency management. They will report to Joseph Gelly, managing director, institutional.
“We continue to be committed to the Canadian institutional marketplace and to helping institutional investors achieve their goals, whether through a comprehensive investment solution combining strategic advice and asset management or a complex implementation assignment,” said David Feather, CEO and president, Russell Investments Canada Limited. “For the last 30 years in Canada, our greatest successes have come in giving asset owners an even more firm command over the future of their investment programs and their progress toward desired outcomes.”
Both Noot and Kulidjian are accomplished industry professionals with more than 20 years of experience. Noot was most recently vice president of sales in Citibank's Institutional Clients Group. He has also served as a chief financial officer as well as held a number of corporate finance, corporate development and business development roles across Latin America, Africa, Europe and North America. Kulidjian has experience across a number of different financial services segments, including asset management, capital markets, private wealth and custody. She last served as executive director of equity markets in Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce’s (CIBC) Wholesale Banking unit, selling trading products to institutional investors. Prior to that, she developed and managed the transition management business at RBC Dexia (now RBC Investor and Treasury Services).
“The challenges facing Canada’s institutional market have strained many organizations’ capacity to focus on the strategic investment decisions that add the greatest value,” said Gelly. “Dan and Sho have the expertise and client perspective to understand the demands on trustees and investment committees and will collaborate with them to show how using dynamic, multi-asset solutions to manage an institutional pool of assets drives outcomes within a stronger governance and risk management framework.”
