Russell Investments announces upcoming fund mergers

TORONTO, October 30, 2018 — Russell Investments Canada Limited (“Russell Investments”) announced today that Russell Investments Canadian Equity Fund, Russell Investments US Equity Fund and Russell Investments Global Equity Fund (the “Terminating Funds”) will merge into Russell Investments Canadian Equity Pool, Russell Investments US Equity Pool and Russell Investments Global Equity Pool (the “Continuing Funds”), respectively. Each merger satisfies the requirements in Canadian securities legislation to proceed without the need for approval by unitholders of the Terminating Funds or by the Canadian securities regulators, including that the mergers will be completed on a tax-deferred rollover basis. The mergers will take effect on or about January 28, 2019.

The mergers are being implemented in order to simplify the choices of funds available from Russell Investments, and aims to reduce annual expenses by allocating each fund’s fixed expenses across a larger asset base.
