Evgenia Gvozdeva is the Senior Director of Research & Development at Russell Investments focusing on the research and development of Russell Investments’ proprietary strategies as well as capital markets assumptions. In this role, Evgenia leads a team of research analysts and strategists who are dedicated to Russell Investments’ research and development activities.
Prior to Evgenia’s current role, she was a senior quantitative research analyst. Her main areas of research were single-factor and multi-factor portfolio solutions as well as dynamic equity strategies. Evgenia has authored external and internal research notes including several notes on multi-factor equity investing. Evgenia is a chair of the Investment Model Review Board and a member of Direct Investments Subcommittee and Investment Division Editorial Board.
Evgenia joined Russell Investments in 2009 as a forecasting portfolio strategist. For several years she has primarily focused on enhancing and maintaining Russell Investments’ long-term forecasting and simulation capabilities and developing strategic capital market insights.
Before joining Russell Investments, Evgenia worked on her dissertation in finance at the University of Houston. While there, she taught finance at the undergraduate level. Her research focused on asset pricing theory, portfolio choice theory and behavioral finance.
Evgenia’s work experience also includes several years as an analyst at the research department of URALSIB (former NIKoil), one of the largest Russian financial corporations.
