Managing Director, Head of European OCIO and Fund Distribution​

Martijn Kuipers is Managing Director, Head of European OCIO and Fund Distribution. He is also a member of the EMEA Executive Committee and heads the office in Amsterdam. ​

Since joining the firm in 2003, Martijn has played a key role in raising Russell Investments’ profile in the marketplace, as the head of the Institutional and Partnerships business in the Northern Europe region. Before that, he was responsible for the client service team in Amsterdam. ​

From 1999 to 2003, Martijn worked at The WM Company, a business unit of State Street, as client/marketing manager. responsible for analysing and presenting investment results for institutional clients. He also developed products to control investment mandates. ​

While completing his masters at the University of Maastricht, he worked at the Limburgs Institute of Financial Economics and at the Unibank/Nordea (Copenhagen). Martijn is fluent in Dutch and English.​

Russell Investments' ownership is composed of a majority stake held by funds managed by TA Associates Management, L.P., with a significant minority stake held by funds managed by Reverence Capital Partners, L.P. Certain of Russell Investments' employees and Hamilton Lane Advisors, LLC also hold minority, non-controlling, ownership stakes.
