Mike Smith is a senior consulting director in Russell Investments’ Advisor & Intermediary Solutions’ Consulting Services Group. In this role, Mike is responsible for providing capital markets research, advice on complex portfolio strategy creation and asset allocation to advisors and financial services organizations who share Russell Investments’ commitment to a long-term investment discipline on their clients’ behalf.

Prior to his current role, Mike was a senior consultant in Russell Investments’ U.S. Institutional group, where he worked with Russell Investments’ retainer clients on investment policy and strategy, asset allocation, asset class structure, manager selection, and risk management. Mike was also a member of Russell Investments’ private equity and global tactical asset allocation teams, a collective research effort focused on providing clients with experienced investment advice on non-traditional asset strategies. Mike joined Russell Investments in 1996 as a consulting analyst.

Mike began his financial career with Towle Associates, an institutional asset manager specializing in international equity investments.
