Sam Pittman is responsible for strategic asset allocation and investment solutions. In this role Sam leads a team that sets strategic asset allocation for multi-asset portfolios, constructs strategic capital market assumptions, develops solutions that help clients solve specific investment problems and conducts research on various topics.
Sam’s research includes multi-period dynamic asset allocation, retirement investing, personal funded ratios, longevity, tax aware investing, factor-based asset allocation, forecasting and investment solution personalization. He regularly authors articles and presents at industry conferences and client events. Some of his recent work has been published in the Journal of Financial Planning, The Journal of Retirement, The Retirement Management Journal and the Journal of Wealth Management.
Sam joined Russell Investments in 2010. Prior to joining Russell Investments, he co-founded a robo-advisor, developed tax-managed and emerging market equity strategies at Parametric Portfolio Associates, led research and development projects at Weyerhaeuser to optimize the flow of timber investments through product conversion facilities and served four years in the Marine Corps.
