Russell Investments boosts consultant relations team
Team fortifies commitment to consultant relationships and enhancing awareness of Russell Investments’ asset management and implementation capabilities
SEATTLE, September 24, 2015
Russell Investments is boosting its institutional consultant relations practice in the United States with two new hires and the promotion of Mike Reardon to director, U.S. consultant relations. The team will continue to strengthen Russell Investments' relationships with institutional consultants, building even stronger awareness of the firm's capabilities in investment management and implementation services such as transition management, agency foreign exchange and overlay services. Reardon is a Russell Investments veteran with more than 25 years of experience in financial services, and Brittany Meisner and Terry Pope join the company as regional directors, consultant relations, to be based in Seattle and New York, respectively.
"Our consultant relations team has established Russell Investments as a key partner with institutional consultants. Their work raises awareness about the broad spectrum of innovative services and solutions available for client referral or as a complement to a consultant's existing capabilities," said David Rothenberg, managing director, Americas Institutional. "Mike is a well-respected industry veteran, as he brings extensive experience and a sophisticated understanding of how consultants address the objectives of corporate, Taft-Hartley and public pension plan sponsors as well as nonprofit organizations. Likewise, both Brittany and Terry bring valuable expertise to the existing team, and we look forward to their contributions that will help deepen our relationships with the consultant community."
Meisner, who will be based in Seattle, joins Russell Investments from Neuberger Berman where she served as an associate, institutional consultant relations. Prior to Neuberger Berman, she worked at Nuveen Investments as a senior research and marketing associate on the global consultant relations team. She will work primarily with consultants in the western U.S. New York-based Pope joins from Highland Capital Management where she was consultant relations director. Previously, she worked at American Century as an institutional sales and consultant relations vice president. She will primarily work with consultants in the central and southeastern U.S. Reardon will continue to serve the Midwest and Northeast regions of the U.S. while also managing the team.
"In a changing and challenging investment environment, institutional investors continue to need well-constructed investment vehicles and efficient implementation,” said Reardon. “Whether a consultant is seeking an implementation partner for transition management, exposure management or conducting a search for an LDI or target date fund provider, we believe that Russell Investments has something to offer that can benefit institutional investors and their consultants in seeking optimal investment outcomes."
