Russell Investments appoints UK Head of Fiduciary Management Solutions

London, 8 July 2021 —  Global investment solutions provider Russell Investments today announced the appointment of Simon Partridge as Head of Fiduciary Management Solutions. He will report to Jim Leggate, Managing Director, Head of UK Institutional, Middle East & Africa.

In this role, Partridge will be responsible for leading the development of Russell Investments’ fiduciary management solutions. He will work closely with Russell Investments’ experienced institutional team to manage new and existing client relationships to continue the growth of its fiduciary management business, leveraging the firm’s global investment engine.

Russell Investments’ fiduciary management business has seen significant growth over recent years as UK pension schemes have increasingly turned to trusted investment solutions providers to help manage their assets. This has included several institutional mandate wins over the past year as asset owners seek to gain exposure to market-leading implementation capabilities. Russell Investments also recently announced a strategic partnership with Hamilton Lane to accelerate its private markets capabilities, a key area of focus for many UK institutions and schemes.

Partridge joins Russell Investments after 11 years at BlackRock where he co-founded the company’s dedicated fiduciary management team and was responsible for delivering outsourced CIO services to clients. During his time at BlackRock, he also led relationships with the firm’s UK institutional clients, with responsibility for business development and account management for UK pension schemes.

A qualified actuary, Partridge has more than 15 years’ investment industry experience, with expertise in delivering solutions for clients across a range of asset classes, including liability and cashflow driven investing as well as private markets. He began his career as a pensions consultant at Watson Wyatt, before spending three years at Mercer as an investment consultant.

Russell Investments will be further expanding its UK fiduciary management team over the remainder of the year, as demand for best-in-class investment solutions continues to grow among institutional and wholesale clients.

Commenting on the appointment, Jim Leggate, Managing Director, Head of UK Institutional, Middle East & Africa at Russell Investments, said:

“Demand for sophisticated fiduciary management solutions are greater than ever and we see significant opportunities to further expand our business as asset owners seek best-in-class tailored strategies to deal with increasingly complex market conditions. With an exceptional understanding of the requirements of UK clients, we believe Simon’s experience and insights will play a hugely valuable role in both meeting our clients’ needs and supporting our own business growth ambitions.”

Simon Partridge, Head of Fiduciary Management Solutions, added:

“With decades of experience in outsourced investment solutions, Russell Investments is a leader in delivering customised fiduciary management solutions, which enable pension schemes to meet their long-term goals and reflect the evolving needs of their members. I look forward to working with my new colleagues in this exciting next phase of the firm’s growth, leveraging its unmatched global expertise and investment platform.”
