Russell Investments Global Infrastructure Pool earns LSEG Lipper Fund Award

Canadian industry recognition spotlights the real assets team’s investing prowess

Toronto, November 10, 2023 — Russell Investments Canada Limited is excited to announce it is an LSEG Lipper Fund Awards Canada 2023 Winner for Russell Investments Global Infrastructure Pool (Series F) in the category of Best Global Infrastructure Fund Over 10 Years. The competitive industry award was presented November 9 at a ceremony in Toronto.

“Our purpose is to improve the financial security of people, which makes us especially honored to receive an award that demonstrates our investment professionals’ success helping achieve investors’ goals,” said Brad Jung, president, Russell Investments Canada Limited and head of the global firm’s North America Advisor & Intermediary Solutions. “The Russell Investments Global Infrastructure Pool has demonstrated an award-worthy 10-year track record, while providing Canadian investors with the potential for inflation protection, enhanced yield and income.”

For more than 30 years and in over 17 countries worldwide, the annual LSEG Lipper Awards program has honoured funds and fund management firms that have excelled in providing consistently strong risk-adjusted performance relative to their peers. The merit of the winners, according to LSEG Lipper, is based on entirely objective, quantitative criteria.

Russell Investments Global Infrastructure Pool features some of the world’s leading global infrastructure money managers and aims to provide diversified exposure to publicly traded global infrastructure securities.

“Our proven manager research process has enabled us to bring three highly experienced active managers to the Pool,” said Greg Nott, Senior Director, Head of Investments, Canada at Russell Investments. “With oversight provided by Russell Investments, these sub-advisers strive to invest in compelling infrastructure opportunities across the globe, with complementary styles.”

Backed by an experienced global team of real assets professionals, the award-winning Pool is also available in ETF Series (TSX: RIIN).

Russell Investments Canada Limited also recently announced management fee reductions for select funds, including the Russell Investments Global Infrastructure Pool, Series F, which is now offered at the same competitive fee as the ETF series. Combined with the reduction in the purchase minimum to $500 for all retail funds, more investors can now incorporate this diversifying asset class and award-winning strategy into their portfolios.

“Institutional pension plans have been investing in infrastructure for decades, and we believe exposure to alternatives such as infrastructure and real assets can benefit retail investors as part of a diversified portfolio,” Nott said.

Additional comments from LSEG’s Robert Jenkins, Global Head of Research - Investment & Wealth:

“The 2023 LSEG Lipper Fund Awards recognize those award-winning managers who navigated their shareholders through the impacts of a global pandemic and then the perfect storm of economic shocks leading to generational inflation pressure and global central bank interventions.

We applaud the 2023 LSEG Lipper Fund Award winners such as Russell Investments for delivering outperformance and the accompanying comfort of consistency to investors’ portfolios through a cross-current of global economic disruptions.”
