Why Super

For many Australians, super is the most important asset they own after the family home, including for low-income households.1

There are three things you can rely on to provide for in your retirement: compulsory superannuation, the Age Pension and any voluntary savings.

While the Age Pension depends on fulfilling criteria such as income and asset tests, and voluntary savings depend on your savings habits and capacity, super is a tax-effective system specifically designed to help Australians save for their life after work.

Our super system is the envy of the world, with Australians having $2.9 trillion2 in super assets. In fact, for many Australians, super is the most important asset they own after the family home.

Your super is your money. You don’t generally have access to it until you retire, but that makes it all the more important to make informed decisions today to make this money work hard for you for as long as possible. It’s best to regularly check on how your super is doing and take timely action to make the most of super rules, new offers and evolving technologies.

And you’re not alone in this. As your super fund, the Russell Investments Master Trust is here to help you save for your future by:

  • investing your super
  • giving you innovative tools and resources to grow your super
  • keeping you up to date on super rules and helping to manage any impacts
  • providing advice and support whenever you need.

We are here to help and happy to have a chat.
