Outstanding GoalTracker® returns

The GoalTracker Investment Option has delivered strong investment returns of up to 10.9% for the year to 31 December 2025.

The GoalTracker (MySuper) Investment Option has performed among the top 10 MySuper Lifecycle options across the country for the 2025 calendar year^.

As the default investment option for the Russell Investments Master Trust, the GoalTracker Investment Option has delivered outstanding returns of up to 10.9% for 2025 (depending on the member's age).

Members invested in this option achieved the following investment returns for the 2025 calendar year:

  • Members aged 50 and under – 10.9%
  • Members aged 51 to 59 - between 9% and 10.7% (depending on their age)
  • Members aged 60 and over – 8.8%

How we invest

If you haven’t made an active investment choice1, we invest your super in the GoalTracker Investment Option.

The GoalTracker (MySuper) Investment Option invests your super based on your age, through a diversified portfolio invested across a range of asset classes.

When you’re younger, your investment strategy will have a higher allocation to growth assets to help grow your super balance. To help protect your savings as you approach retirement, your allocation to defensive assets will increase.

 

A volatile but positive year for sharemarkets

Global share markets made strong gains over the past 12 months. Australian shares also posted strong annual returns but underperformed their global counterparts, experiencing volatility in the latter stages of the year.

Volatility has been the watchword of the period, driven in part by policy decisions by the United States that have had broad geopolitical and trade implications. Share markets were shaken in April due to a sharp escalation in US trade policy as US president Donald Trump announced sweeping tariff measures, referred to as the “Liberation Day tariffs” that targeted broad import categories and trading partners.

High rates of inflation influenced central bank policies through the year and sent them on separate paths in December with the US Federal Reserve cutting rates as inflation cooled while Australia held them flat through the final quarter, indicating a willingness to raise them in the near term if inflation and unemployment remain high. Concerns about the value of AI-related companies caused markets to shake in November but losses were quickly recouped.

These portfolio results reflect the importance of a disciplined investment philosophy and the strength of Russell Investments’ global investment capabilities.
