Jon Eggins is managing director and head of portfolio management, overseeing the Global Equity Portfolio Management team including Global and International and European Equities.

Jon has primary portfolio management responsibility for the firm's global and international equity funds in the US and Australasia. Jon is accountable for all aspects of the portfolio management process including manager selection, portfolio construction and continuous monitoring. Prior to this role, Jon was a senior portfolio manager for the US Small Cap funds. Jon is based in Seattle, WA.

Before this he was a senior research analyst in the Investment Practice team, responsible for designing the tools, analytics and investment forums that drive Russell's investment process. This included designing the investment content and debate in Russell Investments' asset class strategy forums, and further integrating our strategist inputs into the portfolio management process. During this time Jon enhanced Russell Investments' analytical tool kit, including developing Russell's Investments' proprietary multi-manager risk analysis tool (ROADMAP).

Jon joined the firm in Sydney in 2003 as a research associate and moved to the firm's Seattle office in 2008 as a research analyst. In this role Jon covered U.S. market-oriented equity managers and global tactical asset allocation strategies, which involved researching, interviewing, evaluating and recommending investment managers to consulting clients and Russell Investments portfolio managers. He was also a subject matter expert on quantitative equity managers and quantitative techniques for evaluating managers and constructing multi-manager portfolios.

Jon has a strong history with academia, having tutored courses in economics and econometrics at the University of New South Wales. He has worked with academics in Australia, Austria and Switzerland on a series of papers relating to stock-market index construction and investment manager performance evaluation. His research has been published in practitioner and academic journals such as the Journal of Applied Finance. Jon has also lectured in quantitative techniques at the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA), where he was named the Outstanding Lecturer in a NSW Post-graduate Program at the Annual Practitioner Awards for 2007.
