Don’t get super scammed!

1 min read

Has anyone called you recently offering help to withdraw your super or invest it on your behalf? Watch out, because it’s very likely to be a scam.

Online scams have always been around, but the pandemic seems to have given scammers an extra boost with more people moving online for work and leisure.

Scammers eyeing your hard-earned super are no different and this means you need to be vigilant in managing your super and controlling who has access to it.

Often, scammers pretend to be from an organisation you know, like your super fund, gain your trust in order to steal your details and move your super to an account they control.

Look out for any calls, emails or advertisements that:

  • claim to get you quick or early access to super
  • want to help you invest it in property or self-managed super
  • ask for your personal and/or account details.

If you’re experiencing this or think you’re the victim of such a scam, report it to us as soon as possible. We’re here to help.
