EXCHANGE TRADED FUNDS

Innovative and diverse options for your portfolio.

What is an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF)?

Exchange traded funds (ETFs) are one of the fastest growing investment instruments in the world because they offer investors a low cost and easy way to gain exposure to a broad range of domestic and international asset classes.

Exchanged Traded Funds (ETFs) like shares are bought and sold on the stock exchange. ETFs allow investors to hold a range of assets such as bonds, shares or commodities in one trade.

ETFs can invest in one type of asset class or various industries. they can also provide access to a particular strategy like high income or esg considerations. etfs seek to provide the return of an index or return of an asset class.

Benefits of ETFs?

Diversification

Diversification: Provides investors with a simple way to create a diversified portfolio. From one ETF investors can gain exposure to a portfolio of securities, asset classes, styles or particular markets.

Transparency

Transparency: Allowing investors to see the buy and sell price and available at all times to invest. A full list of the underlying holdings is provided to the market each day. Investors can quickly respond to changes in market conditions.

Liquidity

Liquidity: Investors can have greater control with the ability to buy and sell on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) each day during trading with no minimum investment or additional administration.

Cost-effective

Cost-effective: ETFs may be less expensive than purchasing a large number of individual shares or investing in other managed products.

Tax-efficient

Tax-efficient: ETFs generally have a lower level of portfolio turnover than actively managed funds plus, trading in and out of ETFs doesn't increase portfolio turnover within the ETF and this helps to keep them tax efficient.

Why Russell Investments ETFs

By combining three of our core areas of expertise, we are in a unique position to create innovative ETFs to meet specific investor needs. This makes us the logical choice for your ETF investment.

Experience

We have been managing ETFs in Australia since 2010. Our process refined over almost five decades, is rigorous, ongoing, and has ultimately been effective. We take a global, “best-of-breed” approach to manager research, with researchers strategically placed around the world, searching for future out-performers. We have developed deep insights into how to evaluate and construct investment portfolios, including ETFs.

Knowledge

Factors are simply specific, single attributes of investable securities, such as the security's size, quality, or valuation. Understanding and actively managing these factors can both drive returns and mitigate risk within a portfolio. Multiple factors at varying weights are used to capture the relative importance of high forecasted dividends, consistency of dividends and the trajectory of dividend growth (both expected future growth and historical).

Capability

Even the most innovative investment ideas can fail to meet expectations if they are implemented poorly. That's why it's critical to choose an investment manager like Russell Investments who has extensive global experience in successfully implementing investment strategies.
